MANDATORY INTRO REFORMER PILATES CLASS
Start strong with Edgemont Essentials, our required introductory Reformer Pilates class designed to prepare you for success in all other Pilates offerings at Edgemont Athletic.
In this foundational session, you’ll be introduced to the Reformer machine, core Pilates principles, and key movement techniques with a focus on safety, control, and alignment. Whether you’re brand new to Pilates or just new to our studio, this class ensures you’re confident and ready to get the most out of your future workouts.
Edgemont Essentials will cover:
- Reformer equipment orientation and setup
- Neutral spine and core engagement
- Proper form, breathwork, and movement mechanics
- Key modifications and cues used in all classes
Completion of Edgemont Essentials is recommended before enrolling in any other Reformer class style. This session sets the stage for a safe, informed, and empowered Pilates journey.

what is reformer pilates?
Fit with a sliding carriage (a platform which slides back and forth on rails), adjustable springs, straps, handles and a footbar to push against it; the reformer has everything you need to step-up your Pilates game. Reformer Pilates is a fun (and equally challenging) exercise for people of all ages and abilities including celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Kendall Jenner, soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo and the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna. Its incorporation of top-tier equipment enables users to carry out very specific and complex movements with pinpoint accuracy through its unique focus on body alignment.
Custom-created by Balanced Body, our collection of intuitive, easy-to-use 2 Reformers are made with top-tier design and durability to allow smooth transitions, easy adjustments and a workout like no other for Edgemont Athletic members. For an optimum Pilates experience, we suggest pairing our Precision Pilates experience with our mat Pilates classes, located in our Core Studio.
