Beginning with gentler movements to warm up the body, participants will move into progressively more challenging flowing sequences. These may include standing poses, balances, inversions, and peak poses. The class will end with slower, deeper stretches. Flow at Studio 40 may also include the use of props, such as blocks and straps, and focus on proper alignment. Practiced in a heated room (40 degrees), this class provides the benefits of detoxification, improving joint mobility, and flexibility through deeper stretching. The increased room temperature aids in warming-up the muscles and tissues, while improving blood circulation. This class begins with a series of yoga poses that synchronizes breath with movement to awaken the body, followed by a series of long-held poses that will target the deep connective tissues - the ligaments, joints, bones, and deep fascia networks. At Studio 40 we use Infrared technology which warms up the body rather than the ambient temperature.
Warm Yin at Studio 40 is yoga at temperatures ranging between 28-32 degrees, we will target the deep connective tissues of the body – the ligaments, joints, bones, and deep fascia networks. A Yin class typically consists of a series of passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body – the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, and lower spine. On an energetic level, Yin yoga improves energy flow and enhances the flow of chi in the organs. At Studio 40 we use Infrared technology which warms up the body rather than the ambient temperature.
